Can I use the USB2-F-7001 USB to CAN module on a Linux host?

Answer:

The USB2-F-7001 utilises the FTDI Virtual Com Port drivers, on Linux these drivers are included in the operating system but do not natively support the USB2-F-7001 device.

Support can however be added to the Linux driver with a udev rule, please see the following application note for details on udev rules and their usage (an example for the USB2-F-7001 can be found in section 2.4) :
